Our residence, built by a sea captain in 1869 is located on "Tenney Hill" hence the name of the lodging. It is a blend of Victorian charm and rustic country farm-house, with a decor which reflects the owner's interest in art and antiques. Comfortable smoke-free rooms and private bath, cable TV, and a common sitting room with French doors onto a balcony for sun bathing. We have gardens with tables for your outdoor snacks. There is a grocery store and deli a 5-minute walk. Jonathan Fisher museum, an historic house a short walk from our home offers a look into the history of Blue Hill. Not far away is Blue Hill mountain with spectacular views to Acadia National Park. Down over the hill in the village you'll find lobsters fresh off the boat at under $3.00 a pound, and some of Maine's best food. Meet local fishermen at Marlintinis, try the homespun fare at the Blue Moose on Main Street, and discover the other great eateries of Blue Hill.

Situated by an exceptional harbor the village offers numerous outdoor activities, with canoe, kayak, and bicycle rentals; as well as social and cultural events, art galleries, jazz and folk concerts and classical music at Kneisel Hall or the Bagaduce Music Library. The Blue Hill shoreline is famous for its photo opportunities; and you'll find five scenic golf courses within a 30-minute drive. Coffee and pastries fresh from local bakeries are offered compliments of the house every morning on the sun porch or on the terrace, with fresh fruit and an excellent quiche Lorraine with hot croissants and local jams & jellies. Enjoy our friendly ambiance during your stay on the Maine coast. Join us for tea-time afternoons at four, and have a morning coffee with your host who maybe will include you in an historic spy romance which he is currently writing. |
